Product / UI Designer

A central role in our growing team, to help to design and build new products for consumer and business. 

Right now we need a designer with a passion for product, someone who can work with our design system to extend our core product and create new products, introduce new design elements, ideas and concepts to improve what we have and help us improve. The role requires someone who can think through experience and design, end to end, and deliver a product that hits the mark for the brief. 

You will work closely with technology, product and partner teams. So being able to share ideas, collaborate and sprint together is important.

We’re looking for an experienced product designer to take ownership of the interaction and UI design of our suite of products. We’re looking for someone who is just as confident discussing high level UX strategy as they are creating hi fidelity UI mockups and prototypes ready for implementation.

What you’ll be doing

• Working closely with the product owner and CEO discussing strategy and contributing to requirements documentation.
• Creating and communicating high-level experience designs.
• Conducting user research with consumers and partner organisations.
• Defining and carrying out user testing for usability and product/feature viability.
• Producing hi-fidelity mockups,prototypes and production ready design documentation.
• Collaborating with developers discussing technical viability and implementation issues.
• Working within an agile process.
• Developing brands
• Liaising with our partners to present future products and features, or working through how their brand will me represented on the ctrlio platforms.
• Developing the ctrlio visual identity and being responsible for the related assets and how they are used.
• Creating marketing and advertising material such as Facebook ads, annual reports and event materials.

What you’ll need to have

• Great communication skills and confidence in your own ideas and the willingness and ability to present them.
• At least 5+ years experience in product/UX/UI design in an agile environment.
• A Strong understanding of interaction design, UX and UI principles
• A get things done attitude, and an appreciation of lean methodology.
• A natural interest how people use your products.
• Experience designing responsive and intuitive interfaces  
• Excellent visual design skills
• Proficiency in a visual design software package (sketch, photoshop, illustrator)
• Willingness to get involved in all aspects of design in a small business from information architecture to powerpoint templates.

Bonus points for

• Experience with commerce and financial products.
• HTML/CSS/JS coding skills
• Experience with creating and maintaining design systems
• Tolerance for using JIRA for task management
