Legal Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver a top class legal service to a fast growing London fintech start-up.

The main responsibility of the legal assistant is to support the legal team, meaning that their work is made easier. However, as legal assistant you will also be responsible for maintaining various databases and for running your own projects.

Reporting to our General Counsel, you will be:
Working with internal clients across Onfido, as well as external parties
Reviewing and processing legal requests
An independent thinker who isn't afraid to ask questions and you're organized in a way that never overlooks the details
Reviewing contracts including marketing, client and supplier agreements, to find out defined information relevant to projects
Creating and improving processes related to delivery of legal services in Onfido
Improving the delivery of training by sourcing new technologies and deploying them
Conducting ad hoc research projects
Managing trade mark and domain name portfolios
Assisting in relation to company secretarial matters
Managing a legal team intranet site
Assisting in a number of projects related to legal matters as well as compliance with relevant regulations and standards (ISO27001)


BA, BSc or LLB
Relevant work experience
Solid grasp of spreadsheets in Google Sheets/Excel and how to create them
Good time management and strong organisational skills
Strong understanding of basic legal contracts
Strong communication skills, including excellent standard of spoken and written English
Responsive and results oriented
Proven interest in technology
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience of managing databases
High degree of ethics and integrity
Interest in start-up culture & being involved with a dynamic team

Previous work experience at a technology start up
Knowledge of company secretarial processes (board minutes, filings)
Experience of dealing with external suppliers
