You will be tenacious and passionate about doing things the right way and building software that makes a difference to our clients and their users. You will be interacting with clients on a regular basis and be a great communicator.

We lean heavily on open source and encourage our developers to contribute and be active, engaged members of the community. We also open source our own projects.

We don't dictate how you work at Red Badger, each team is totally autonomous and entrusted to make the right decisions.

As a Red Badger software engineer you will allow each solution to drive the technology choice, not the other way around. You will be technology agnostic and choose the right tool for the job.

While the above is our favourite tech we are pragmatic enough to choose the right tool for the job and frequently find ourselves working on projects with tech such as .Net and Java. We know not everyone has had the chance to work with our favourite tech so that shouldn't stop you from applying; above all we are keen to hear from experienced well-rounded engineers.

How we work

We work in close, multi-disciplined teams made up of some of the industry’s best UX designers, digital designers, developers, testers and agile project managers. We always work in an agile manner, mostly Kanban these days. We look to continuously improve our lean processes and are always looking for a better way to do things.

We work on large, technically complex, projects for great brands such as Fortnum & Mason, Sky and Tesco to name but a few. Take a closer look at some of our work here.

About Red Badger

The best bit about Red Badger is, of course, the team. We’ve been around for 7 years now and we are nearly 90 strong. We are really proud of our team; we support and learn a lot from each other; we work really hard but have fun doing it. We are a diverse group made up of 22 different nationalities, we speak 17 different languages and unusually for a tech company, we have a 50/50 gender split.

We were founded by 3 guys who have considerable tech and consultancy experience and still own 100% of the company. We’ve been consistently profitable and have grown responsibly from the beginning.

We are based at Old Street in the heart of “tech city” and get thoroughly stuck in with the brilliant community around us. We run several meetups including the hugely popular React London, and the Functional Programming on the Web, invite other groups to host their events in our office such as Lua London and Ladies Who Code and speak at events like Digital Shoreditch and LNUG.
