You’ll enjoy every facet of finance data mining to ensure your partners, colleagues and leaders have the most up to date, reliable information; helping them to make the best possible financial decisions.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing and participating in finance and accounting activities across several locations
• Managing others, developing exceptional talent, and encouraging the team to challenge assumptions
• Implementing policies and new finance systems and evolving best of breed practice. Maintaining robust financial controls & reporting procedures across the business
• Maintaining systems to monitor group compliance with statutory, tax and audit requirements
• Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging other Team members and managers
• Working with data source providers and technology teams, ensuring that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
• Liaising with overseas hubs
• Managing weekly and monthly financial activities, including forecasting, planning and reporting.
• Production of timely management accounts and board reports. Monthly Management Accounts for two group companies
• Reporting to external stakeholders and banks
• VAT, EC sales and INSTAT returns
• Annual statutory accounts and audit relationship
• Annual group budgets
• Head office payrolls


• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/ Business/Engineering or a related discipline
• Accredited accountancy qualification (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA)
• Previous experience in positions requiring analysis of and reporting finance results
• You have experience of working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g. SQL, MS Access, Essbase and or Cognos), alongside other financial systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (eg. using pivots, lockups, and so on). You’re willing and able to travel, primarily to local operations, in addition to occasional international support
• Proven familiarity with UK GAAP Accounting standards
• Proven expertise in financial management, evaluation and swift analysis; always providing meaningful reporting.
• Proven ability as a manager of strategic relationship with business partners: you influence decisions
• In spite of occasional conflicting priorities, you always provide level-headed advice and guidance. You can manage and prioritize your workload in a fast-paced, high-growth, occasionally ambiguous environment
• Highly analytical. Strong attention to details and good communication skills
• Hardworking and flexible approach
• Positive and supportive attitude

Compensation: Competitive depending on experience
