Graduate Risk and Compliance Guru

at Octopus Labs in London

(₤23000 per year)

The only compliance job you should consider!

Octopus Labs
Octopus Labs is the innovation team within the Octopus Group tasked with building disruptive, exciting and new Fintech businesses across lending, investing, saving and more through harnessing the power of technology. Having formed a year and a half ago we are at an exciting stage of our development with our first business, a peer to peer lending platform called Octopus Choice having launched a year ago and our next business, Octopus Cash in its early stages.

The role will give a recent graduate the chance to work in an exciting start-up environment whilst retaining the benefits of being a part of a large, well-capitalised business. A dynamic environment and energetic team that characterises the start-up world coupled with the perks of a corporate graduate job.

What you’ll be doing:
This is not your bog standard ticky boxy compliance role. As a recently graduated Compliance Associate in the Fintech sector, you will be responsible for helping our young businesses to retain and maintain their licenses to operate. Championing our open, customer centric culture, you’ll be helping to build valuable, sustainable start ups by ensuring that we’re meeting our legal and regulatory requirements. You will be a quick learner! Additionally, with Octopus’ focus on process automation and digitisation in mind, you’ll constantly be helping to design and improve the way that we keep our customers’ money safe, prevent and detect fraud and money laundering and keep our data secure. In time you will become an expert in managing risk in digital businesses.

What we’re looking for:
You should be the nerdy one among your friends who really enjoys devouring piles of boring rules and regulations and regurgitating them as something easily digestible that can be implemented. You must be a savvy problem solver who loves a challenge and approaches new obstacles with enthusiasm. You must also be a quick learner with the ability to work using your own initiative. Minimum 2:1 in law, accountancy, business or similar. Previous office experience desirable.
