Overall purpose & role:
As a key member of the risk team you will be required to analyse new business prospects, investigate and make decisions by challenging both internal and external stakeholders, monitor and report on potential issues with existing clients and coordinate the flow of payments to our clients.
Collate evidence and conduct analysis to support your underwriting recommendations, to be presented to the risk management team.
Prioritise the risk workload for the team, with a focus on advancing funds but also signing new business. Liaise with external third parties to validate new debts quickly and efficiently.
Continually monitor existing clients by analysing management information, making recommendations and taking necessary action. Quickly and accurately flag matters to be escalated to the management team.
Become a champion of our in-house built risk tech and work with our tech team to develop a sophisticated and robust system.
Using your analytical mind, produce coherent and concise risk reporting to the risk management team – this could be verbally, written or in the form of a presentation.
Effectively and positively engage with other departments (notably funding and tech) and share your knowledge with the rest of the team.
Maintain awareness of IT and Information Security related issues and ensure compliance with GapCap’s security policies and procedures.
Undertake regulatory training and maintain high standards of organisation, timekeeping and accurate record keeping.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, in particular excel.
Good level of numeracy with a close attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Experience of working in a finance based environment.

Salary – £25 -£30K depending on experience
