Product Designer

at 9fin in London

(₤30000 - ₤35000 per year)

9fin – AI-powered financial data for the bond markets

We use machine learning and computer vision to read financial documents. We’re currently looking for our first full time product designer.

At 9fin we’ve got a massive focus on user experience and design. Indeed we think it is so important that one of our founding company values is ‘Beautiful Simplicity’ - If it’s not easy to use, then it’s broken. Consumer applications relentlessly focus on the user with beautiful interfaces and snazzy graphics. There’s no reason why B2B can’t be just as good.

Today B2B software in the financial markets looks like it was built in the 1990s. Popup boxes, small text and clunky design. With your help, we think we can be 10x better.

Overall responsibility for design, brand and user experience of our company’s web, mobile and offline presence.

Designing web and mobile interfaces that allow our users to easily search, filter and analyse complex financial data sets.

Working closely with the Founders and business team to gather and analyse user feedback.

Creating and testing wireframes / prototypes for new and existing 9fin features.

Delivering continuous UX improvements and instilling a company-wide focus on awesome design.

Experience with visual design, application design and interaction design (experience with financial data is a bonus)

Experience designing responsive web-based mobile applications

Comfortable and highly competent with both Sketch and Zeplin

Excessive attention to detail

A design case study will form part of the application process for this role

In the stock market, trading is done electronically by robots, news is instant, data is abundant. In the world of high yield bonds, trading is done by humans over the phone, news takes 20 minutes to hit the market and data sucks. Debt markets are stuck in the 1980s, 9fin aims to fix that.
