About Paddle

Our mission is to help software businesses succeed - enabling them to focus on creating products the world loves. Hundreds of developers and software companies rely on our checkout, payments and licensing solution to sell their products globally, as well as using our powerful analytics and marketing tools to understand and grow their businesses.

We’re one of the fastest growing software companies in the UK. Our revenue tripled last year and in the last 6 months our team has doubled to over 30 people in our shiny new HQ near London Bridge. We’ve received over $5m in funding from BGF Ventures and Kindred Capital, and are proud to be one of Tech City’s Upscale 2017 rising stars.

We’re just starting to focus a lot more on our brand and to scale our marketing efforts. You’ll join us at a great time to help us define how we communicate and illustrate everything we do, and become a key member of our marketing & design team. We have a bold vision, ambitious plans and believe that great design is key to achieving these.

Your responsibilities
- You will primarily ensure we have an exceptional design for our website, landing pages, blog and emails - reflecting who we are, helping us communicate as clearly and convincingly as possible, and in line with today's best practices of leading tech startups
- You will also be responsible for any other design need we have, from creating a Keynote master or illustrations for a sales flyer to supervising the work of a video production company to ensure that they stick to our brand standards
- You will work alongside our CEO and Head of Marketing and bring your creativity and experience to translate ideas into concepts, and concepts into finished designs
- This role is based in our London headquarters, ideally on a full-time basis although we can be flexible

Desired experience
- You have a portfolio (please include a link in your application) showcasing past work; we’re especially interested in the declinations of your work for a single company along various supports (website, newsletter, print…) and audiences (new customers, existing customers, potential employees…)
- You’re a skilled, well-rounded web designer with a strong understanding of design principles such as colour, typography and layout
- You know how to manage your time and work as part of an efficient team, ideally in a similarly fast-paced environment where it’s easy to get distracted (we use Slack for communication and Trello for project management)
- You have excellent communication skills orally and verbally: you can ask the right questions during briefing and feedback, and explain your ideas clearly and convincingly
- You’re experienced with current design tools: we primarily use Sketch, Camtasia and Keynote, as well as
Photoshop and other tools when the need occurs
- You can translate a design into HTML and CSS code that is clean and maintainable

Useful but not essential
- Video editing would be a plus
- Working knowledge of Javascript and familiarity with Jekyll would be a bonus
