About The Role
Working closely with the Product Partner (Dharmesh Raithatha), the role of UX Lead at Forward Partners will be focussed on revolutionising the company’s approach to providing UX support. This role involves hands on UX and Service Design work for new and established startups in our portfolio as well as really pushing forward the strategies, and processes that underpin our UX offering and adding to our in-house, and world-class Product Delivery Model (see www.thepathforward.io)
You will be well versed in the latest approaches and best practices of UX design, and bring exceptional pattern recognition for what great UX design looks like. You will have come up a UX Design route, with lots of experience working with Lean UX for startups and will be comfortable being hands-on as success in this role will necessitate spending a lot of time hands-on in the design process (including wire framing and prototyping) as well as working with other key stakeholders to ensure that UX helps serve our Partner companies ultimate strategic goals.
You will be a guide and mentor to your colleagues at Forward Partners as well as the entrepreneurs that you work with, ensuring that best practices and principles infuse Forward Partners and its Partner companies. You will design and oversee a best-in-class UX design process from user research through to user testing. This will include ensuring that the wider Product team has access to the right qualitative data to derive actionable insight for Product/Growth decisions as appropriate. It also includes building on our culture of rapid testing and tuning, ensuring that Forward Partners will continue to be at the forefront of UX design going forward.
You will have complete accountability for UX and be expected to set the bar exceptionally high, ensuring that Partner companies are consistently surprised and delighted.

Summary of required experience & attributes:
DEEP UX EXPERTISE – Will have a strong technical background in UX derived from working in startup businesses. They will have a deep appreciation of what great UX design looks like across platforms and devices as well as within the relevant sub-disciplines. Will be an acknowledged expert in the field, and up to speed on all the latest approaches and best practices.
EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS – Will be a strong, trustworthy character with the ability to inspire team members to excel. Will be a natural team player with an inclusive approach, but also the ability to make key decisions based on experience. Will also be highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management.
EFFECTIVE INFLUENCER – Will possess strong influencing and communication skills, which, allied to exceptional clarity of vision, will enable them to drive the UX agenda across Forward Partners and it’s Partner Companies.
METRICS, DATA AND ROI-DRIVEN – Will bring a data-led, metrics-focused approach to UX, aiding the wider team in building and evolving commercially- successful products that delight consumers. Will build on and encourage a culture of ‘discovery’ amongst the Product team, adopting a ‘fail fast’ as well as ‘test and learn’ approach.
PRODUCT SENSIBILITY – Ability to anticipate future consequences for products resulting from evolving technologies, consumer preferences and trends. An innovative, long-term thinker with a demonstrable passion for products.

This is a part-time role (circa 3 days a week) on a permanent contract.
