Job Summary

Lead parts of the Strategy and Business Development work of a fast-growing, early-stage healthcare diagnostics company.

Osler Diagnostics is developing a handheld diagnostic device capable of testing for a vast range of biomarkers, from just a pinprick of blood, in less than 10 minutes, at an accuracy greater than current lab testing, and at a cost of < $5/test. This device will disrupt the diagnostics industry, and healthcare more broadly, permitting more accessible, affordable, and accurate patient testing. The technology is based on years of world-class academic research from the University of Oxford and has been successfully proven in a research lab context. We are now moving to a development lab to create the prototype device, before going to market. We have received >£5m in funding in the past year and have already established relationships with large diagnostics companies. We are one of the more significant investments made by Oxford Sciences Innovation, enabling us access to their broad network of investors, advisors, and potential partners.

Role Responsibilities

The candidate will report directly to the CEO. They will be responsible for:

Co-developing the go-to-market strategy for the device (which geographies, care settings, and therapeutic
areas we deploy the device in, and when)
Working with and building our advisor network across technical, healthcare and commercial expertise, to
generate insights (to feed into strategy) and create a support network
Fundraising and forming strategic partnerships (develop relationships with and pitch to potential investors and

Qualifications and Skills


2+ years practicing physician
1+ years in business (top-tier consulting preferred)
Healthcare network and broad healthcare knowledge/experience
Experience with public speaking – great communication and presentation skills


Start-up experience
Experience with university research
