Storemates is part of the exciting sharing Economy. We are the Airbnb of Storage, connecting people with space.

We have 4000 storage spaces around the UK offering an affordable friendly, local, green alternative to expensive self-storage. Our mission is to create a fantastic marketplace that helps everyone rent out their attics, garages, sheds, spare rooms, driveways to the many people looking for extra storage space.

We have received investment to build improve our platform and create an amazing user experience and innovative functionality. As the CTO of Storemates can you help lead the technical transformation of our company to become internationally dominant within the next 3 years?

The role involves developing the strategic vision for our technology, overseeing our developer team, (currently based abroad) and managing our next phase of our site growth and app development.

We are looking for someone who is super sharp, resourceful, patient with exceptional communication skills and can work flexibly with us on a part-time basis. You will need experience of both IT projects, programming, different platforms and managing contractors. You will need to advise the board on all things tech plus will have the opportunity to get involved in many other interesting areas such as business strategy, marketing or design in relation to your CTO role.

As a start-up, we cannot pay a salary at this stage for this exec role but can provide a very generous share option scheme linked to performance which will prove lucrative when we exit. If we achieve our revenue targets after year one we will be able to offer you a generous paid contract (on a first refusal basis)

Working with Storemates is also hugely rewarding and fun. We are in the press constantly with our unique solution to space and are popular spokespeople for the booming 'Sharing Economy'. The senior team is also very experienced, contagiously enthusiastic and will be committed to your support and development. Our special advisers include senior execs from John Lewis, Airbnb, M&S and Visa. This will be a great opportunity to learn and develop new skills!

You don’t have to be based in London and hours are flexible, but we would expect a minimum of 8 days a month commitment which if you are working already you can fit around your existing working hours. We would welcome a face to face meeting in London once every 4-6 weeks as part of the senior board.
