We are looking for a Technical Co-Founder, who is an experienced Software Engineer, to join the team and develop a new simulation game for Marketing courses targeted at leading universities and business schools worldwide with the scope of expanding to the business sector as the company grows.

Simulation games are innovative teaching and learning technologies that are disrupting and transforming education at universities and business schools, and also within businesses that are increasingly seeking to utilise such technologies to improve their marketing effectiveness and overall productivity of the company. They provide the most real learning experience and are much sought after by both academia and businesses. Usage of such simulations is increasing, such games are becoming embedded as a key component of assessment in marketing modules, and the overall market data shows they are likely to generate promising growth in the years to come.

The UK as a market is particularly attractive with the introduction of the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017 with 293 universities participating in the UK alone and the Degree Apprenticeship 2017 scheme; both demand focus on teaching that is practical and simulates the ‘real world’. As such, simulation games have become an innovative and effective method for teaching and assessment by placing participants at the heart of decision making within realistic markets. Both initiatives provide a great opportunity to enter this emerging market with huge potential to grow and develop.

As Marketing teaching professionals, we find major flaws in the existing games, whereby core principals of decision making are not aligned with current teaching and business practice. We see considerable scope for improvements within the simulation game, in terms of the key principals of decision making, interface and usage, and we are eager to develop our own game. The main revenue stream of the business will be generated from licenses per user, bought buy universities and business schools, or sometimes users directly (and by businesses once the company grows). We will mainly operate in B2B industry which is even more attractive for profit generation for this type of business.

We are looking for a business partner to join the team of two and in return we offer generous equity.

1. A software engineer with at least five years of experience in an appropriate tech stack (we will be guided by you and therefore do not require a specific stack)
2. Prior experience of working in an early-stage start-up would be highly desired but not essential
3. Prior experience in developing simulations would be a distinct advantage but not essential.

Where are we now and what’s in the near future?
1. Testing our pilot project for the simulation game with minimal technology with forty students starting in February 2018
2. We will collect a comprehensive feedback from students and teachers to guide the development of our product
3. We would then develop a prototype for our product with your help
4. We will then test this prototype with 150 PG students at the end of this year
5. Finally, with all the data collected that validated the concept, we will go out to the market to raise funds.

Who is in the team?
There are two of us, both passionate about technology that takes learning to the next level. We are:

CMO who has significant experience in both academia and business. She is currently a Lecturer in Marketing and Director of Studies at leading business school with a triple accreditation in the UK. Prior to teaching Marketing, she was teaching Management overseas. Altogether, she has seven years of experience in teaching in the higher education. Also, she is Digital Consultant at an American learning science company which is among the "big three" educational publishers worldwide. She is experienced in using innovative and contemporary technology in teaching, such as simulation games, adaptive technology, social media, and various other tools with an element of gamification. At the same time as pursuing her PhD and teaching Management, she worked full time in the banking industry for seven years, she was a Product Manager managing credit products for business clients. Also, she worked as a Consultant for a leading Italian restaurant chain in the UK for two years.

COO who has seven years’ experience in the insurance and finance industry having worked as a regulatory auditor and regulatory consultant for Deloitte and will be running the operational part of the business.

More details on the business plan, including the vision, the scope, the target market, the competition, the distinctive advantage, positioning strategy, ROI etc. will be discussed during the meeting.
