Business Development/Sales Exec
at ResponseiQ in London
(₤24000 - ₤30000 per year)
£24k-28k (it will go up) + £6-10k first year OTE (Uncapped)* – Our comms structure is awesome.
I know job hunting is dull, I really do, so I tell you what, let’s agree on this, read the short summary I’ve written out; if you’re still interested, read the whole thing.
You; in short:
To put it simply; if you’re the quiet one out of your friends, then you’re probably not right for this role.
Us; in short:
We’re young (ish), ambitious, outgoing and very, very sociable.
The Job; in short:
You’re going to be selling. From the beginning of the process (cold calling) to the closing part, you will be involved in all aspects of the sales cycle. If you’re a fast learner and work hard, you can make a lot in commission.
The Company; in short:
ResponseiQ helps businesses to generate our clients more revenue by increasing inbound phone calls and speeding up response times. 50% of people who trial it sign up and nobody leaves.
The Office; in short:
It’s in Angel, it’s brand new, we have a pool table, and there’s free booze on a Thursday.
Sound interesting? Ok, keep reading.
CVs are boring, but you probably spent a long time formatting and spell-checking yours, so I will read it. But what I really want to see from you is a tailored covering letter.
Read the full description below and send us something to catch our eyes, we don’t want some copy-and-paste thing that’s gone to 20 other people today, nor do I need an essay on how your trip to Thailand opened your eyes to how the world works and how that’s made you realise how important tech startup sales roles are. Give us something interesting about you and why you want this job.
You; in full:
You’re confident, smart and organised… but not boring, never boring.
You can’t be afraid of getting on the phone and making noise in the office, you’re a hard worker who has tenacity and enthusiasm for; 1. making money and 2. seeing a business grow because of what you have done. You don’t need to care about tech but you do need to have a passion for being successful, your role is going to have a lot of scope for growth and if you’re good, you could be making a lot of money, as well as having your own team under you in the not-too-distant future. You need to be able to think on your feet without getting flustered and must have a lot of ambition.
You’re sociable, outgoing and don’t shy away from a good night out if one is on the cards.
If you’ve got outbound telesales experience then great, but that’s not a deal breaker.
Us; in full:
This time last year there were just 2 of us, now there are 23 of us worldwide, with 8 in the London office.
We hate everything and anything to do with corporate working environments. We’re rapidly growing and, with that, heavily focused on company culture. We’re an energetic, hard-working team are looking for people who fit in socially, just as much as people who can do the job at hand.
We’re in the early days and have massive ambitions for this company and will do what it takes to get it to where we want it to go, which is why we need a strong team to support us.
I’m Sam and am the Head of Sales & Development. I have over 10 years experience in new business sales, including extensive training and management experience.
Scott is the Founder & CEO and comes from a financial background. He left the corporate world to start ResponseiQ and is an incredibly hard worker, leading by example.
The sales team are tenacious, far from workshy and we genuinely like each other (or we’re hiding it well, I’ve not worked that out yet). We’re looking for people we want to spend time with outside the office.
The Company; in full:
We’re a sales acceleration and conversion optimisation company that is focussed on helping our customers to generate more revenue than they’re able to without us, by getting them more phone calls.
Our easy-to-install widget tracks user behaviour and offers free call-backs, to our clients’ potential customers, in under 27-seconds, increasing the conversion rate of visitor-to-call by up to 60%.
“ResponseiQ removes all worldwide communication barriers allowing visitors from anywhere in the world to speak to you, for free, at any time during your working day. Alternatively, they can simply schedule a suitable time and date for you to call them back; ResponseiQ will alert and connect you at their chosen time, ensuring you never miss a callback request again.”
We’re financially backed by Fuel Ventures and have just raised a significant amount of money as part of our second round of investment, giving you the opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing tech startup.
The Job; in full:
As a Business Development Executive, you will be an integral part of ResponseiQ’s growth. This is a fully supported role with a huge amount of training, but you will also have the freedom to make the role yours.
Your role will be to reach out to cold & warm using any means necessary. You will primarily be cold calling and emailing, you’ll be on the phone a lot, so you can’t be shy. Once you’ve got a prospect’s attention you will be arranging and conducting online demonstrations of our technology in action, and, once they’re hooked, you’ll be supporting them through their free trial, leading up to closing them as a new customer. You will be managing your own leads on our CRM system and will need to have an excellent grasp of your own pipeline.
The End. As I mentioned above, send me something tailored and unique. The hiring process can be really boring, so please help me out a bit.
