Experienced Remote Freelance Community Moderators (Greater London)

Campus Society, the only online platform that connects university students worldwide is looking for Community Moderators based in the London area to work flexible, freelance moderation shifts. You'll be responsible for monitoring and moderating user-generated content to ensure our online community is maintained as a safe and fun environment. We are looking for a team of people who collectively cover all hours of the day, including evening, night, overnight and weekend shifts.

What you'll do

- Review and moderate all user-generated content and member profiles (using both proactive and reactive moderation) within channels, posts, chats, comments, images, videos and audio, liaising with the Community team where required

- Ensure contributions to the community comply with community guidelines, policies and Terms of Service

- Maintain the report queue

- Be our 'eyes and ears' in the community, helping us maintain the health and safety of the platform, and ensuring all members have a voice

- Flag issues, opportunities, user insight and business feedback to the Community Managers

- Maintain community health by modelling the appropriate online behaviour we want to see from all members

- Maintain a friendly, vibrant community environment while adhering to our brand TOV at all times

- Help to welcome new members onto the site and answering any questions that members have

- Read shift reports at the start of your shift, create shift reports at the end of your shift, and stay in excellent communication with Community Managers

- Support Community Management initiatives such as live events, competitions and other activities

- Attend required training sessions, both online and face-to-face, and stay up-to-date on community procedures and initiatives (your time will be paid for)

What you've got

- Ability to maintain composure in complex and nuanced situations, demonstrating a strong level of emotional intelligence and people skills

- A background and experience with online communities - community management or moderation

- Stable computer and reliable broadband connection

- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, and a proactive approach

- A passion for helping students, as well as an interest in various aspects of student life such as education, accommodation, societies, and sports

- Outstanding online communication skills, display a good level of written English with accurate spelling and grammar

- Ability to work a flexible schedule (within your preferred working hours)

- Willing to work in our centrally located office as frequently as your schedule permits

- If working only nights and overnight, you're willing to visit our office at least once a month to meet with others on the team, attend required training, or other activities as needed

- Happy to feed back to Campus Society when you identify platform and process improvements that will bring greater efficiency to our team
