Senior Product Manager

at Catapult in London

(₤55000 - ₤80000 per year)

Catapult is a venture backed tech startup based in Islington, London. We’re an on-demand staffing platform who connects candidates which are looking for work, with employers who require fantastic workers. We specialise in Hospitality and Retail and are excited to be building the future of work!

We’ve gone from 5 team members to 60 in the last two years and we’re still growing rapidly. Now we’re looking for a feedback driven, user focussed, lead product manager.

What you’ll be doing over the next six months

You’ll be taking over the management of the product function, day to day you’ll:

  • Be the voice of our customers, ensuring that all product decisions are made based on them, rather than internal opinions
  • Use data and research to cultivate the roadmap and explain your choices and findings
  • Coordinate the collection of feedback from users (both candidates and employers) ranging from focus groups to data analytics and automated feedback requests
  • Work across the management team to ensure everyone has visibility of the product roadmap
  • Work with the product designer and engineering team to spec out new features and see them through to release
  • Ensure new features are properly instrumented so we can measure whether they work or not, managing the process of iterating on features to improve these metrics
  • Put in place and maintain processes to ensure bugs and errors reported by both users and internal clients are properly triaged and resolved

About you

We’re firm believers that a lot of the best candidates are outliers so we don’t have any unmovable requirements, but it’s likely a lot of the following describes you:

  • Your gut reaction to a user problem isn’t to think of a solution yourself, it’s to find a way to go and talk to lots of users
  • You’re not comfortable making decisions without data and research to back them up, if people try and do this, you’re comfortable managing them (both up and down)
  • You appreciate the importance of both vision and research when deciding what to build and that just one of the two is never enough
  • You like working with and talking to lots of different stakeholders both internal and external, you’ve got strong ideas about how to structure processes and love testing and developing these
  • You read a lot of books and articles about product management and generally how to build stuff people love.
  • You enjoy sharing your learnings from these with the rest of the team
  • You’ve had several previous customer facing product management roles, at least one of these was probably in a fast growing, early stage startup
  • You take pride in working out which are the 20% of the details that make 80% of the difference and pushing for these to be prioritised

You’ll be joining a venture backed, rapidly growing startup at one of the most exciting points; as we expand across the UK and internationally. Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and options package
  • Plenty of scope to define your own role and own the product function
  • Beautiful office in Islington with flexibility to work remotely some of the time
  • Regular team meals, events and get togethers
