Head of Engineering at Fast Growing Startup
at Viddyoze in Preston
(₤60000 - ₤80000 per year)
Viddyoze is a 3 year old startup experiencing massive growth. Our flagship product viddyoze.com has over 75,000 users with more joining us every day.
Not only do we have over 75,000 users, we have been responsible for rendering over 1,250,000 animations and currently render over 2,500 animations each and every day, in a completely automated fashion.
Our aim is to become the go to place for the ‘non techy’ person to create videos, and assets for their videos. We’re well on our way to being there – but we know there is so much more we can do.
That is where you come in.
We have an office in Preston, UK and although you’ll be required to attend meetings and work from the office from time to time, you don’t need to be there each and every day.
-> You will be leading our business to the next stage of growth.
-> Experience in working a startup where structure sometimes goes out of the window.
-> Good knowledge of PHP Symfony 3.3 + Doctrine, PostgreSQL, Docker and Apache
-> Proficient with cloud services such as AWS auto scaling
-> Very strong architectural experience.
-> Desire to get your hands dirty and code when needed.
-> Ability to get things done and transmit a sense of urgency to the team.
-> Experience hiring highly skilled developers.
-> Experience of leading, coaching and managing a team, helping them improve.
-> You love to work on new things. Sometimes we’ll ask you ‘Can you make our product do X?’ Your job will be to figure out how to make it happen or tell us if it can’t!
-> Can break the rules.
-> Competitive salary and benefits package.
-> A team full of smart people to work with and learn from.
-> Interesting projects that will challenge your skills, not endlessly implementing the same CMS CRUD over and over.
-> Freedom to get on with the job. We’re not some giant company with dozens of people between you and a result. You’ll be part of a small team that’s trusted to get on and deliver great software.
-> Flexible working hours – You need to be mostly online during UK office hours but no one is going to get bent out of shape if its not precisely 9-6 every day.
Sounds like what you’re looking for? Great. Send us details of what you can and can’t do (be honest, it’s important) as well as a few details about who you are as a person and we’ll be in touch.
