Job Brief
The Equal Group is seeking a Marketing and Social Media Manager who can focus on creating and maintaining the marketing plan as well as running the day to day marketing activities. This role would suit an experienced, confident, hands on marketer. The Marketing and Social Media Manager will be responsible for driving forward the marketing strategy for the company and will be a positive, creative self-starter who is happy working in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for someone with the insight and experience to suggest ideas that will help the organisation grow. You will be skilled across online and offline marketing platforms, highly self-motivated and eager to make a real difference.

You will ideally have previous B2B experience in managing and driving market strategies within the energy, financial or professional services industry. You will also enjoy a role working in a small but growing supportive start-up environment where agile working is encouraged. Because of the nature of our business, we will be looking for someone with a keen interest in and/or understanding of diversity and inclusion in the workplace

You’ll be joining a founding team as a senior member, with options for either full-time or part-time employment. We will also consider contract work, if you already have an existing client base you wish to continue working with.

As our Marketing and Social Media Manager, your responsibilities revolve around organising and running marketing campaigns predominantly over social media platforms but also utilising offline platforms.
Your role will involve:
• Running The Equal Group’s digital marketing activity including Social Media, PPC, Email Marketing and SEO;
• Developing, maintaining and executing new social media and marketing strategies, plans and campaigns;
• Creating content, including blog posts, videos and images for use in both an online and offline context;
• Promoting products, services and content, in a way that is consistent with The Equal Group’s brand(s) and agreed social media strategy;
• Keeping track of data and analysing the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives;
• Meeting with / Speaking to clients and other stakeholders (such as social media influencers). These meetings may involve pitching potential marketing campaigns and press releases;
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations and PR teams to ensure brand and messaging consistency;
• Building relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and media partners/journalists;

Key Requirements
• Demonstrable experience (minimum 3 years) in marketing – with at least 2 of those in a relevant marketing role, e.g. digital agency, consultancy – together with the potential and attitude required to learn.
• Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising strategies and leading cross channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate.
• Reporting: ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
• Previous budget experience, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, processing figures with spreadsheets and storytelling of results.
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online/offline marketing and measurement.
• Can proactively run social campaigns on Twitter / Instagram / Linkedin which engage target market(s) and client audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solutions-orientated with a growth mindset.
