Are you a smart, data-loving Graduate who loves researching and analysing trends? Are you fascinated by the world of start-ups, scale-ups and beyond?
Look no further – in this role, you’ll immerse yourself in the best available data on the UK, high-growth economy; and deliver analysis for some seriously high profile clients!
We’re looking for someone with great powers of analysis. Perhaps you’ve done some statistical analysis as part of your degree. Or perhaps you’re a spreadsheet whizz, with some work experience drawing out trends and conclusions.
You’ll also be a concise, engaging and logical writer, as you’ll be creating insightful copy to accompany your data analysis.
Our platform lets users search our huge database of high-growth companies and the ecosystems around them. It’s an invaluable window into the world of start-ups, scale-ups, funds, accelerators and beyond.
Clients depend on this for a variety of use cases, but sometimes they want more from our data than they can get through the platform alone. That’s where Research & Consultancy comes in.
In our team, we investigate the most fascinating trends in the sector to deliver tailored research and analysis.
We work with Government clients like Innovate UK and the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy, to answer questions like: what’s the impact of innovation funding? What bottlenecks to companies face when looking for finance?
We also work with private sector clients like EY and Penningtons Manches - for instance, looking at different types of investment or helping them to show thought leadership.
As part of a small team in a startup environment, your role will be hugely varied with great responsibility from day one and could progress in a number of exciting directions.
To start with, you’ll:
*Analyse data in Excel or Tableau
*Undertake research (desk-based, interview etc)
*Write reports based on analysis
*Create proposals following client meetings and government tenders
FYI, this is not a strategy/management consultancy role, so we’d advise against applying if that is your ambition.
What does that mean day-to-day? A large part of your work will be project-based, so here’s an example of a project you might work on:
*Client:* a top law firm
*Brief:* produce a report including findings that mark the firm out as a thought-leader in the venture capital industry.
*Phase 1:* Set up queries across Beauhurst’s data. Analyse results in Tableau and Excel to find interesting trends.
*Phase 2:* Create charts and copy to illustrate the trends you find. Then work with the firm to identify which ones fit best with the messaging the firm wants to present.
*Result:* A report in the law firm’s branding that is mentioned in top newspapers.
*SKILLS & EXPERIENCE*
You’ll be great if you:
*Have fantastic skills in data analysis (spreadsheets, statistical analysis etc)
*Are a clear, concise and engaging writer
*Are keen to learn all about the UK high-growth economy
Bonus points for:
*Experience with Tableau
*Graphic design experience
*Salary: £24k + bonus and commission*
As well as that, we’re delighted to offer:
*Substantial options scheme
*Fantastic culture – you’ll be welcomed into a quirky, fun and intelligent team, committed to seeking and supporting personal development
*Beautiful Brixton office with rooftop terrace and incredible views
*Personal development budget for courses, conferences, training and any reading material that interests you
*Matched pension scheme
*Season ticket travel loan
*Great company social life – Friday drinks in the office, regular events and free lunches.
