PR Executive for Exciting Startup Needed

We are currently seeking a freelance PR Executive to work directly with our clients. This person will need to be available to start ASAP and be London based.

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and driven PR Executive to join our growing London-based team. You will possess creativity and knowledge of different tactics to identify and engage the appropriate target audience for clients. The goal is to build a strong communications network around their company that will ensure good relationships with the general public and rising awareness of the company and its brand.

Your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Devise creative public relations strategies that fit company profile
• Develop effective PR plans using appropriate strategies and tactics
• Organise and coordinate PR activities
• Use a variety of channels (TV, press, internet etc.) to maximise company exposure
• Liaise with marketing professionals to ensure consistency in promoting corporate image
• Arrange for interviews or public speaking events and construct press releases
• Advise company on handling sensitive public issues to preserve reputation
• Assess opportunities for sponsorships and other partnerships and manage relations
• Work alongside the digital marketing executive


The ideal candidate would have:

• Proven experience as public relations executive or in PR, comms, marketing and media
• Must be interested in start-ups and entrepreneurship (double points if you’ve worked in / with a startup before)
• Someone who has a strong passion for PR, marketing and writing. Be creative, have imagination and initiative
• Proven experience in coordinating and managing effective PR campaigns through various channels
• Solid knowledge of social media (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable as a public speaker
• Ability to build strong relationships with key people or organisations
• A creative mind partnered with the ability to find the best practical solutions
• Excellent organisational, time management, team communication, and interpersonal skills
• Must have drive, competence, flexibility and attention to detail with the ability to multitask. A can do attitude
• Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Have a good knowledge of current affairs
• Are comfortable planning, developing and implementing effective PR strategies to both broad and targeted demographics
• Comfortable liaising with media, individuals and press and can help build valuable contacts
• Are adept at using social media
• Can foster community relations and devise and coordinate photo opportunities
• Can source and manage speaking & sponsorship opportunities
• A team member who can work independently and has a strong drive to succeed

You should be able to:

• Executive campaigns through online & offline channels
• Develop new campaign ideas, set up, launch and manage campaigns and report on campaign performance
• Achieve coverage across national and trade press media
• Manage media lists, build relationships with journalists, manage award entries and help to place case studies in press for clients
• Be comfortable developing and managing a PR strategy from scratch
• Develop and deliver initiatives to increase clients brand awareness, grow the clients brand customer base and ultimately drive sales
• Manage some clients social platforms (company social media channels including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat etc and grow followers
• Manage and update information and engage with users on social media sites on behalf of company / client
• Plan, develop and implement PR strategies and campaigns
• Liaise with and answer and enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations regarding press activity for clients
• Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media agencies / journalists etc
• Collate and analyse media coverage for clients
• Devise and coordinate photo opportunities for clients
• Maintain and update information on clients company website
• Source and manage speaking opportunities / podcast / interviews etc
• Develop a good working relationship with the media
• Achieve coverage across national and trade press
