Memrise is an award-winning language learning system which combines cognitive science, entertaining content and advanced tech to empower our millions of users with linguistic confidence in just a few months of learning.

We were awarded “Best App of 2017” at Google I/O and featured prominently at Apple’s WWDC last year. We work closely with both Google and Apple and are one of the top go-to developer partners when they launch new features on iOS and Android.

We recently secured Series B funding and have ambitious plans for the future. From growing our user base, to improving our product, there is a lot of work to do to take Memrise to the next level.

Your mission will be to ensure that Memrise’s brand voice is expertly crafted into engaging messages that connect with people across all of our properties: from brand messaging guidelines to UX microcopy all the way to press releases. By doing so, you will promote positive associations with our brand that will ultimately help drive awareness, conversion and loyalty.

If you join us, you’ll get to:

- Produce creative and SEO friendly content for all of our marketing properties (website, emails, blog and social media)
- Work closely with our Chief Brand Storyteller to define brand messaging guidelines and produce a playbook for internal use
- Provide writing guidance to people across the org that are responsible for writing source copy
- Proofread all copy and messaging, ensuring that it adheres to brand and quality guidelines

Ideally you will have some or all of the following:

- You are a master of the English language, obsessed with spelling and grammar but you also embrace new ways of using the language
- Creative versatility to produce a wide range of copy, from ux microcopy to email newsletters, blog posts and video scripts.
- A background in journalism, creative writing, branded content copywriting or similar would be useful
- An understanding of UI/UX and experience working with product designers and developers
- A love for languages in general, and knowledge of at least one other language is strongly preferred
- Enthusiasm for social media and blogging
- Curiosity fuels your creativity: you enjoy figuring out how/what in your copy works or doesn’t and use that to craft even better messages
