Reporting directly to Hugh Boyle, our CFO, you will form part of the finance function here at Unmortgage, a PE backed fintech startup revolutionising homeownership in the UK.

Who you are
You’ll be a people person. Senior management, the Board and external parties such as external auditors are your stakeholders.
You’ll be a keen presenter, with excellent communication skills.
You’ll be a self starter, a team player and enjoy working on a variety of tasks.

The skills you'll have
You’ll be an accountant, having completed your ACA or ACCA qualification.
You’ll have experience in financial and management reporting with a knowledge of UK GAAP. IFRS and FCA regulatory reporting would be advantageous too.
You’ll be proficient in using excel.
You’ll have a basic understanding of corporate and indirect (VAT) taxes.

What you’ll do
You’ll be maintaining the daily accounting ledgers.
You’ll prepare monthly management accounts for review by Hugh and senior management as well as assisting in preparing the quarterly Board level reports.
You’ll help Hugh develop our regulatory reporting and fund accounting processes.
You’ll prepare VAT and corporate tax returns for review by Hugh.
You’ll prepare LLP registration forms, annual accounts and tax returns.
You’ll be involved with Hugh and senior management in business forecasting and planning. Making updates to our current financial model as appropriate.

How we work
We have a small team which gives everyone the opportunity to get involved in a variety of different areas and projects with direct access to senior management.
We use Xero for our accounting and payroll practices, Microsoft office suite for our internal and external reporting and FCA Connect, the regulatory reporting portal.
