We are currently building a secure, intelligent mobile platform that solves the communication challenges faced by health professionals across the UK's National Health Service.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE
Forward Health is looking for someone to take on the proactive development and implementation of processes and systems that ensure we remain compliant with all relevant data protection laws and best practices. The right person will not only be insightful interacting with our community and NHS stakeholders, but will also have the initiative and drive to seek new directions for the company. They must be experienced in information governance and security (or prepared to learn quickly), be comfortable with navigating the highly regulated healthcare sector, yet flexible to the demands of a fast paced startup.
Own and actively support the development or systems and processes to ensure Forward Health continues to meet all relevant data protection laws and NHS best practices
Partake in and build the national conversation around the emerging informatics landscape in healthcare, regularly making contributions in the national media and at conferences and roundtable discussions
Network with informatics experts through forums like the NHS Digital Academy
Appraise our current compliance systems and identify areas for improvement
Maintain our paperwork and processes to support NHS Data Security and Protection toolkit and Cyber Essentials certification, and GDPR compliance
Ensure that regular and appropriate IG/IS training is provided to all employees
Work closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure best practices are understood and adopted throughout the business
Learn, lead and coach as the in-house expert on information governance and data privacy
Work closely with our innovation partners, Trusts, other vendors and regulatory bodies

WHAT WE VALUE
Knowledge of data quality principles and standards relating to information security and healthcare knowledge and experience of best practice in governance processes and procedures
Good understanding of Cloud and SaaS principles
Experience in performing internal spot checks, internal and external audits, information security incident reporting and
Risk assessment and management skills
Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Demonstrates sound judgement and the ability to make decisions proactively
3-5 years experience working in information security or compliance within healthcare or health technology, ideally with experience in the NHS.
Experience working with Agile software teams
Diploma or Master’s degree
Understanding or exposure to health data regulation outside of the UK and an interest in expanding knowledge to other countries
