at Secret Escapes in London

We’re looking for a brilliant Content Editor with a passion for luxury travel to write inspiring hotel copy, sub-edit like a pro and be a key support to our busy UK editorial team

About Secret Escapes
Secret Escapes is the UK’s biggest members-only website offering flash sales on luxury travel within the UK and around the world. We negotiate amazing deals and exclusive discounts for our members. We want to inspire the world to escape, and we do so with strong imagery, stylish writing, sought-after destinations and

We’re not afraid to get our hands dirty and we’re all incredibly passionate about our brand.

About you
Are you a talented and experienced wordsmith, sub-editor and social media addict with a passion for travel, an eye for detail, an issue with poor grammar and a great sense of humour (without breaking the unwritten codes of taste and decency)? Tick those boxes and we’re interested.

How the magic happens
There are six of us on the UK editorial team and we’re all based in the London office. We’re frequently name-checked as being one of the most diligent teams at Secret Escapes – a workload that might intimidate others is child’s play for us. We’re always juggling several tasks at once and we work hard to meet tough weekly deadlines. We do all of this with a smile on our face, a cookie in our hands and a genuine love for the job. We’re (probably) the closest team in the company and spending our working days together is a genuine pleasure.

Your characteristics

  • An ability to quickly understand and write in our house style
  • Ability to quickly identify and highlight a property’s unique selling points
  • Conscientious and driven to achieve results
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively
  • Impressive accuracy and speed
  • Innovative, creative and commercially-minded
  • Good knowledge of and genuine interest in hotels and destinations
  • An all-round hard worker who’s happy to get stuck in and work on some less-than-exciting tasks. It’s not all about five-star hotels here and you need to tackle both with equal enthusiasm and energy
  • Above all, someone who’s positive, friendly and a team player

Things you should know
One last thing to know is there’s no travel involved with the role. You need to be in it for the love of the job and not the globetrotting opportunities.
