Business Development Manager / Sales Executive

In a nutshell we’re looking for a confident and determined person to help grow our business. This description doesn’t exactly set pulses racing so let’s add some “sales spin” to it.


For the right person this is a fantastic opportunity. We’re a successful website development agency who’ve been running for about 5 years now. In that time, we’ve grown to be a team of 7 and have about a dozen active clients on our books, all of whom have returned for repeat business. This growth has been achieved organically without taking on any debt along the way. We want to really kick on with our growth and win bigger, more challenging projects, and take on more staff to deliver them. To do this we’re going to need someone like you! If you’ve got a talent for sales, then this should be the equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel.


About the role:


The job is straightforward to explain – we need a constant pipeline of new business, your job will be to find and deliver it. You’ll be expected to use your initiative and take responsibility for:


  • Lead generation.
  • Nurturing of prospect relationships through to the conversion to client status.
  • Setting our strategy for acquiring new business.

To help with the above we’ve built a prospecting tool which we imaginatively call our ‘Leads Tool’. This tool is email focused and has successfully brought in new business, but we feel conversions would be much higher if they were accompanied by follow up calls from a polished sales professional.


Added into the mix is our desire to sell our Leads Tool as a ‘software as a service’ product. Our core business will always be website development, but an element of your role would be to sell the Leads Tool and open up that product as a revenue stream. In theory this kind of product can scale without having to directly scale staff headcount, so it is a very exciting prospect.


We want to get the right person working on this, so we’d be open to full time or part-time working, whatever suits the right person best.


About You:


  • Either 1-2 years of sales experience or a recent graduate.
  • Your first instinct is to pick up the phone and call.
  • You find it easy to strike up a rapport with people.
  • You’re naturally upbeat and are aware sales is a numbers game.
  • You’re tenacious and hardworking.
  • You’re able to work independently.
  • You’re constantly coming up with new ways to find business.
