Business Development / Sales Executive - EdTech (graduate role)
Salary circa £25,000, OTE £35,000

MEL Science is a London-based EdTech company developing a unique approach to science education: combining hands-on experiments with Virtual Reality, to explain the science behind those experiments. We have already built a great consumer business and are now at the stage where we are scaling up, specifically targetting primary and secondary schools, not just in in the UK, but internationally!
Do you have a Science degree? Are you passionate about how Science in Education is perceived? Would you like to help inspire and educate children about Science? We’re growing our London team and we’d love to speak to Science graduates (you MUST have graduated OR be graduating literally in the next month) who’ve ideally got some Sales experience, who’d like to join an incredibly exciting, international business.
What will you do?
You’ll initiate conversations, build relationships and generate revenue by following up on leads provided to you within schools in the UK and US markets.
You’ll identify the right contacts and reach out to Headteachers and Heads of Departments to explain about how MEL Science can contribute to Science education.
Your aim will be to sell our products - and also tutorials - that we produce and sell on our platform.
You’ll use various forms of media, email, phone, social media, to contact the relevant decision makers and work across the whole Sales cycle, from initial touch through to close.
You’ll conduct demonstrations and guide potential customers through our platform and products.
You’ll use our CRM to record all contact, and develop your own structured Sales process to meet your targets and KPI’s.
As you develop your Account base, your role will also then become Account Management. You’ll nurture your customers to retain and increase sales.
You’ll be ambitious, dynamic and eager for success within a growing EdTech startup!
You’ll have a good degree or equivalent in a STEM subject and strong A’Levels or equivalent.
Ideally some sort of office-based Sales or customer service experience.
A proactive, confident, energetic approach. You won’t be afraid of picking up the phone and speaking to schools.
Resilient and Goal focussed - you’ll be eager to meet your KPI’s and objectives.
A logical mindset, structured and process-driven. Whilst we don’t expect lots of experience, we do want someone who can start to develop their own Sales process to facilitate success!
Happy to learn, develop, listen and assimilate.
