Biomaterials Engineer Job Description
You will research and develop hydrogel biomaterials for culturing primary tumour cells in our microfluidic devices. The hydrogel is a crucial part of our ex vivo platform that mimics a patient’s tissue microenvironment and local cancer spread.
You will pass on your formulated hydrogel to our tumour tissue engineers, who will then culture cell lines and primary cells to simulate different cancers. Ideally, the hydrogel should be easy to use and not require any complicated or dangerous synthesis steps.
Create hydrogel formulations for multiple indications of cancer
Characterisations (e.g., SEM, rheology)
Scale up material production
Packaging materials for shipment
Master’s in materials science/engineering
Published papers in the life sciences and or materials science/engineering
2+ years of work experience in cancer, biomaterials, or tissue engineering research
