Online Filings is a software and web-application developer that designs tools that simplify the way entrepreneurs run their business. We have strong partnerships in place with companies like Barclays Bank, WorldPay and TransferWise to provide additional services to the entrepreneurs using our platform. is the all-in-one Companies House and HMRC registration and filing platform available to entrepreneurs, which provides access to the 2 cloud-based filing and secretarial software we’ve developed in-house and were authorised and tested by Companies House.

Our Mission

We help entrepreneurs focus on their company while we deal with all their business-related admin tasks and provide them an easy access to our partner’s offers, from bank accounts to insurance policy, card reading machine or office space etc...

The role

As a full-stack junior web developer at you'll be tasked with building exciting new products from scratch, working directly with our US-based CTO and CDO (who is also a senior tech developer) to deliver a wide range of tools and sites, both for internal and client use.

You’ll work in an Agile, collaborative environment to capture requirements, propose software designs, follow through with implementation and iterate in response to feedback.

You’ll employ Online Filings’ in-house framework to create products that are delightful to our users.

You’ll work across the entire stack, from backend to front end and all in between.

You’ll create everything from mockups and UI components to the business logic and data structures.

You’ll ensure the software is delivered to the highest quality through code reviews, writing of unit and integration tests.

About You

You will be passionate about web development and eager to explore the end-to-end processes, both front-end and back-end. To be successful on the job, you'll relate heavily to the following profile:

Personal skills:

  • You have a proven track record of personal and academic achievements (Minimum of a 2:1 in a BSc in computer science).

  • You are highly motivated and have a passion for creating awesome products.

  • You are a flexible individual who can quickly adapt to new challenges and requirements as well as working with team members who are based remotely.

  • You thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

  • You are a strong communicator, both written and verbal.

  • You have the ability to take a scientific approach when solving complex problems.

  • You are motivated by challenges and continuous learning.

Technical Skills required:

  • A degree of experience working with: PHP, Python, NodeJS, JavaScript (jquery, bootstrap, backboneJS); HTML5/CSS3; with ability to develop cross-browsers.

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs, version control systems (primarily Git), and databases (such as MongoDb/MySQL)

  • Minimum of a 2:1 in a BSc in computer science or equivalent. Masters degree in Computer Science in addition to BSc in computer science is preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred

The following experience will prove highly beneficial:

  • Some experience using and maintaining unix servers (centOS, ubuntu).

  • Ability to demonstrate examples of code that you have written to a very high standard, executed as part of high-quality applications.

  • Experience designing and building your own APIs.

  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment (Kanban/Scrum)
