Chief Product Officer (CPO)
Remote, UK based with travel to HQ (Manchester) when required
My client is a successful social impact start-up operating in the FinTech sector. They create bespoke mobile fundraising and contactless giving solutions for charities and not-for-profits. From their range of contactless charity box devices and tap to donate machines to fundraising optimisation, they are dedicated to helping charities and non-profits digitally evolve.
The Chief Product Officer will become the strategic leader, visionary, and an advocate of the organisation’s products. The primary goal of the CPO is to lead and facilitate the creation of products that deliver value to both customers and the business. The CPO will directly report to the CEO and board.
As CPO you will be responsible for the delivery of all initiatives across the entire product lifecycle - from customer discovery and user research to development and delivery.
Leadership; You will be an excellent leader and manager that holds gravitas. You will be highly skilled at facilitating and communicating across the company (between engineers, designers, marketers, customer-facing teams, etc.) and prevent organisational silos. Thus, you should also have extensive experience in managing and mobilising cross-functional teams.
Strategic Product Vison; you will be responsible for the “why” of the product and what to build next. You will align the wider company around their overarching vision. When it comes to individual features and products, you will ensure that they are in line with business objectives and make adjustments when necessary.
Sensitivity to customers and users; deeply understand the problems, needs, and desires of customers. The customer discovery conducted by the CPO (and other members of the product team) are necessary to build excellent product experiences, identify proper positioning in the market, and more.
An eye for data; As the CPO you must make objective, data-driven decisions.
