Working at Punk Money isn’t about being a cog in a machine, we’re looking for stand out individuals who’ve got the drive and determination to make the role their own. 

With a high level of autonomy, Your role will be hands on, defining requirements, coaching and leading a talented team of engineers and getting stuck in with technical contributions. You'll work closely with the product owner, product designer and analys, as well as your engineers, to make both product and project decisions.



  • Create and maintain ownership of the technical design, including providing business cases for decisions, and responding to peer reviews.

  • Working with production, provide input on the team’s Agile project management process

  • Provide input on the technical risks of any design discussions

  • Participate in studio management meetings and provide direction on product and studio issues

  • Provide budget for the engineering team and the product, including any needed hardware, server cost, and middleware solutions needed. Work with IT on planning and implementing any game related infrastructure changes

  • Structure and manage the entire engineering team for the project. Manage the hiring process for any new team members



  • You're passionate about technology, product and user experience - customers are at the heart of what you do and that empathy drives your decisions

  • You've got experience working in Fintech, Peer 2 Peer, Consumer Credit, Mobile Finance Platforms 

  • You know back-end MVC Framework, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, plus Java and Spring Boot are preferred

  • You have experience developing in a modern front-end framework, React is preferred, but experience with Backbone, Ember, Knockout or Angular Js is also relevant

  • You'll have worked with SQL databases, writing custom queries and designing schemas

  • You'll identify and leverage API's that will work for us 

  • You have previous experience of leading and mentoring a team of engineers

  • You understand the value of balancing product knowledge and technical skills and can coach other engineers and product managers on both

  • You enjoy creating an inspiring team environment where ideas are shared, and openness is valued

  • Experienced working with SQL databases, query optimisation and transactions

  • You set a high bar for software quality and consider tests a must



You’ll be joining a highly motivated founding team with the branding, ideas, business plan and products already in production. We are currently raising Seed capital to finalise production and launch the product. The existing team are marketing and product experts who’ve already had excellent feedback and already have significant traction with their current product.
