Movemeback is looking for an experienced marketer with B2C and B2B experience, to exponentially increase user growth at a leading platform that connects the globe to African opportunities

Location: Global, UK preferred

Movemeback is a global, London HQ start-up on a mission to build a world where anyone can access opportunities anywhere. We have built the first of its kind professional and social networking platform connecting individuals and organisations across the world to career, investment and entrepreneurial opportunities in Africa! Some liken us to a cross between Linkedin, Tinder (connecting people) and Airbnb for African opportunities. Our mission is to apply modern technology to tangibly address some of the world’s largest unsolved problems, related to creating global transparency and access to unique opportunities, connecting people and forming meaningful connections for driving economic development. In Africa we have a target of contributing to the creation of 300 million jobs by 2036. In this role you will have exposure to the entire African continent, learning about innovative companies, high impact organisations, and the levers of social and economic development across Africa.

What you will do

You will oversee all B2C and B2B marketing efforts, to exponentially increase user (members and organisations) growth. You will be responsible for marketing strategy, development and implementation, utilising partnerships and social media engagement to achieve your aims. With brand awareness and brand integrity as top-of-mind, you will be crucial to the development of a strong Movemeback identity, and how the market perceives the Movemeback brand.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee B2C marketing efforts to significantly increase user growth and engagement
  • Oversee B2B marketing efforts to increase organisation growth and engagement
  • Develop strategies to engage potential users, and exponentially increase users of our platform
  • Manage the conception, development, and implementation of marketing plans and campaigns across all platforms
  • Develop a digital media strategy and campaigns, manage spend, and lead its successful execution
  • Identify opportunities to use partnerships to increase brand exposure, engagement and users, and oversee the development and management of new and existing partnerships. This may include large-scale African conferences and events organisers, Universities and Business Schools focused on increasing their impact in relation to Africa, policy-makers, media houses and African community groups
  • Lead in the uncovering of insights from key marketing performance metrics and market research, to translate findings and results into actionable insights
  • Lead in the analyzing of customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies
  • Keep abreast of market trends and marketing best practices, to help build successful marketing strategies and plans

Due to the current global crisis, this role will begin as a remote role, before transitioning to a role located at our London HQ. Candidates looking to work remotely are also encourage to apply

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Successful track record in both B2C and B2B marketing and digital marketing 
  • B2B and B2C marketplace experience, and an understanding of how to market tech platforms preferred
  • Experience of, or an understanding of the African and international Africans context - both businesses and people
  • Experience developing and managing community level partnerships
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets
