Trust Keith is an early stage Data Protection company helping leaders of UK scale-ups effortlessly manage their Data Protection and Data Compliance so they can focus on growing their business with confidence. We combine real humans with technology to help scale-ups, like Thriva and Student Beans, successfully comply with all data regulation, reduce their breach risk, and protect their staff online.

We’re called Trust ‘Keith’ because Data Compliance is often associated as a ‘boring’ and ‘unsexy’ subject, stereotypically conducted by individuals with names like ‘Keith’ [credit to Family Guy], and we’re here to change that!

We're looking for an ambitious, proven, and forward-thinking Data Protection professional to lead our privacy team with the potential to grow into the company's Managing Director role in due course. You'll help us deliver a consistently standout Data Protection service to our customers and inform the strategy for us to scale.

In This Role You Will

  • Be the lead privacy expert for your book of customers as part of our privacy and customer delivery team
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers on GDPR, other privacy regulation compliance, and data protection due diligence
  • Conduct customer Gap Analysis', and produce professional Audit Reports and other privacy deliverables and policies to our best-practise
  • Manage incidents and breaches for our customers
  • Align data privacy with information security best practice
  • Find creative and simple solutions to complex customer challenges
  • Contribute to growing and optimising our privacy and customer delivery team
  • Look for ways to positively influence our customers' Data Protection strategy
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives and execute against them
  • Help define the strategy for how we scale the business

Must Have's

  • 5-7 years experience as a Privacy Specialist, Data Protection Officer, or Legal Counsel, and providing clients or colleagues comprehensive advice on privacy topics
  • Experience managing and growing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Frustration with the status quo of how outsourced privacy and data compliance is currently delivered
  • Be systems & process orientated
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail: you hate doing things inefficiently
  • A confident communicator: you'll need to be able to reassure our customers in stressful situations
  • Ability to call bullsh*t and say what others don't want to hear
  • Not take yourself too seriously.... We're very aware we're building a company in an 'unsexy' industry, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun and full of personal and professional development opportunities!

Nice To Have's

  • CIPM, CIPP/E or CIPP-US certifications
  • Experience working with fast growth small businesses
  • ISO 27001 implementation experience
  • Tech savy with proficiency in tools including GSuite, Excel, and Notion
