Zedify is shaking things up in the logistics sector by transforming the way first and last mile deliveries are done. Our unique system for consolidated, zero emission deliveries ensures consumers get their items how and when they want, and is helping to create healthier, more liveable cities.

We’re looking for a capable head of operations to tie together all our systems and procedures and provide the support and training to our amazing network of depots throughout the UK. You’ll be absolutely key to our ambitions in growing Zedify from our existing 8 hubs to over 50 in the next three to five years.

The job

The main focus on this role will be to provide a link between Zedify UK as the licensor and our network of licencees and you’ll be the first point of contact and support for depot managers. The role is about growing the culture, standards and systems for our existing depots that matches our brand values and ensures that Zedify grows to be the ethical choice for first and last mile deliveries.

You’ll provide leadership and support to all our licensees and ensure they have the tools to deliver a quality service and remain motivated and happy with the brand. This will include initial benchmarking and a review of our key processes and systems to identify best practise. With this knowledge, you’ll look to find improvements in efficiency & quality and organise any necessary training or support across the network.

You’ll ensure we have suitable and up to date policies and procedures including compliance with GDPR and other legal frameworks.

You’ll work closely with sales and marketing to onboard new national accounts and manage relationships with our existing ones, ensuring we hit the relevant KPIs and SLAs.

You’ll coordinate feedback from depots and identify key developments, including technology improvements.

We have a diverse fleet of vehicles in use across the depots and your role will include managing the supply chain and working closely with the fleet manager to ensure we have the necessary systems in place to optimise and manage these assets.

You’ll look to ensure there is a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation by setting high standards and ensuring safety and staff well-being are at the heart of each operation.

You’ll work closely with the CEO on a day to day basis and play a key role in the strategic direction of the company. We’re a small business with big ambitions and you’ll relish the challenges and opportunities that come with this.

National travel will be needed in this role.

About Zedify

Zedify works by utilising depots on the edge of urban areas that act as a gateway for small items coming in and out of the area. We re-mode to large electric cargo trikes ensuring we are faster and more agile and can hit the narrow time windows consumers are demanding. By consolidating deliveries going to the same area, we are more efficient.

Zedify was established in 2018 and is a licenced network of independent zero emission delivery operators with a unified brand, business system and shared technology platform. In the past year, we delivered over 350,000 items out of our 8 UK depots. We have an ambition to become a certified B Corp.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an ambitious and capable operations professional that is used to a fast-paced environment and enjoys a very diverse role working in small teams.

You’ll likely have graduated with a STEM/Economics/Finance degree & have 5+ years of work experience in an operations or business development role.

You’ll have a solid track record of achievement and be able to demonstrate projects or systems where you have made an impact to increase efficiency and/or productivity

You can break complex problems into smaller ones and enjoy working with data to facilitate your work, using this to measure success or failure.

You’ll be a great people person, leading from the front and have demonstrated how you’ve brought your teams together.

You’ll want to make a difference and be part of a team that’s excited about making our cities more liveable. Disappearing into a large organisation or doing the same thing every day doesn't appeal.

You’ll share our ideals and ethos, have a positive attitude and be motivated to make an immediate impact as our brand ambassador.

A background in logistics would be a huge plus and experience of a rapidly evolving start-up business environment is a benefit.

What it offers

You'll get early responsibility and the work you will do will immediately make a difference. You’ll be able to quickly influence how the company operates and be part of the founding team.

We have a share options pool set up.
