Alice Camera™ is a novel AI-accelerated computational camera being built from the ground up for content creators. An interchangeable lens camera with a dedicated AI-chip that elevates machine learning and pushes the boundaries of what a camera can do. Photogram AI is looking for a UX/UI Developer and Customer Engagement Manager to develop UX/UI software, app connectivity between smartphones and the Alice CameraTM, and support customer engagement through digital content creation.
You will be given the autonomy to design solutions creatively and follow through with implementation while collaborating closely with customers and team members. You will be working with cutting-edge technology to implement real-time image streaming and enhancing user experience.
- We are looking for you to have experience in web and app development, graphic design and digital content creation/marketing.
- Complementary skills in C, C++, Python, and graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, XD (UI/UX) are welcomed.
- Good communication skills.
- Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D., or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Creative Arts, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, etc are welcomed. We will consider non-degree holders with relevant expertise.
- Familiarity with Computational Photography principles and algorithms.
- Experience of developing and managing a small engineering team.
- Experience interacting with open-source software communities.
Photogram AI is a computational photography startup specialising in AI-accelerated hardware and software for modern content creation. Photogram AI was founded in July 2019 on Entrepreneur First and is now incubated at the UCL university incubator in King's Cross.
Since founding, we have made it onto NVIDIA AI's Inception and the Digital Catapult's MI Garage and 5G accelerator programmes winning a total of £200,000 of cloud computing credits. We have also built strong relationships with institutions such as Aetha Design, Additive Flow, SMS Electronics, London & Partners, and Capital Enterprise. We were recently selected at one of the UK's 100 Createch One's to Watch in 2020.

By bringing together advancements in deep tech and the creative industries, we want to provide creatives with access to leverage some of the latest innovations in computer vision, AI, 5G, IoT, as well as creativity, photography, and consumer goods.

Vishal Kumar, CEO, Brand & Machine learning lead
Vishal is a cultural data scientist with 6 years experience managing data visualization and machine learning projects in the creative industries. He's also a content creator who regularly speaks about the role of AI for creativity. Vishal is interested in championing technology for the creative industries through entrepreneurship having been selected as a semi-finalist in the Creative Industries Award for the Mayor of London's Entrepreneur Competition 2019. He studied an MRes in Data Science and Visualisation at The Bartlett UCL, an MA in Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art, and a BSc in Applied Economics at LSE. Vishal previously worked at Sotheby’s auction house for 3.5 years as one of the company’s first ever data scientist.
Dr Liam Donovan, CTO, Engineering & Product lead
Liam is an experienced engineer with over 10 years experience across academia and industry specialising in building digital technology and embedded computing to assist creatives and artists in their practice. His multidisciplinary backgroud includes electronic, software and mechanical engineering. Liam studied a PhD in Media and Arts Technology at Queen Mary University of London and a MEng in Engineering Science at Oxford University. He earned a LIFE Enterprise Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering, completing a year-long programme focusing on building a business around selling computational hardware to the creative industries. He was the founder and lead engineer of Augmented Instruments Ltd, a spin-out developing computational hardware for musicians.
Vik Kumar, COO, Finance, Operations & Commercialisation lead
Vik is a keen and practicing photographer, experienced in the financial and B2B customer service sector, holding the Chartered Institute of Investment (CISI) Certification (in Securities, Derivatives and Regulations) and is currently a CFA level II candidate. He studied a BSc in Atomic & Particle Physics and Physical Chemistry at UCL. Vik previously worked in Sales and Marketing at JP Morgan for 4 years between 2015 to 2019, specialising in cross-asset class derivative services to a wide range of institutional clients.
