As one 3rd of the Product organisation, we are a team made up of 3 UX researchers, 7 Digital Product Designers, 2 Design leads, a Head of UX and Director of Experience.

We’re looking for a Mid / Senior level UX researcher with previous experience of conducting user research in a digital product setting, to work with our UX Research and Design team on a 12 month maternity contract.
You should have experience of:
- Confidently planning and scoping research projects to meet objectives.
- Using a selection of qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies, with a solid understanding of how to use them appropriately.
- Hands-on facilitation and interviewing with a variety of people, ideally including global participants.
- Using relevant software tools and technology to conduct and deliver research.
- Testing ideas, prototypes and live products on mobile and desktop.
- Recruiting participants.
- Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Experience of delivering research for learning platforms, ecommerce or marketplace platforms, apps and service design projects is a bonus, but not essential.
You will be:
- An excellent listener with a natural empathy for people and a passion for understanding their feedback and underlying needs, values and motivations.
- A critical thinker and analytical problem-solver; able to identify focussed research objectives, balance user and business needs, demonstrate rigour and gather insight methodically.
- An excellent communicator, with the ability to get your ideas across easily, confidently and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, to different audiences.
- Very comfortable gathering, analysing and presenting insights from qualitative data.
- Comfortable gathering, analysing and presenting insights based on quantitative data - at minimum using basic descriptive statistics to summarise and interpret survey data. An ability to interpret platform data (e.g. via SQL, Google Analytics or collaboration with Data Scientists) is a bonus.
- Familiar with the implications of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for research.
- Proactive in staying up to date with developments in UX research and keen to develop your expertise.
- Creative, efficient and pragmatic in your approach. You’ll make the most of available resources, focus on impactful objectives, be ready to adapt methods where appropriate and be able to quickly develop recommendations based on evidence.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own work within projects, whilst knowing when to seek guidance.
- Happy to work with light direction, be flexible and accept specific direction as required.
- Comfortable working on a few tasks concurrently, happy to switch focus when needed.
- Highly organised, with great time-management.
- Enthusiastic about collaborative working and encouraging others to get involved in research.
