Hi PR superstars!
So I run a startup called Cookt www.cookt.co.uk - an online marketplace that gives recipe-lovers instant access to their favourite cookbooks & chefs on their phone, whilst arming them with a bunch of kick-ass tools to make it easier, faster & happier to cook too.
We're launching our website & app late November to take advantage of the mahoosive sales calendar that's christmas, and we'd love you to be the one running PR to make sure we're the best cooking/recipe startup everybody is talking about!
This role involves writing press releases, getting journalists to talk about us, making noise in the foodie world, bi-planning campaigns for all future cookbook launches and just doing whatever it takes to get Cookt out into the big wide cooking world. You're preferably an idea person who loves to get their hands dirty. You have to be someone who thrives about winning. Knows how to talk to audiences, connect at a deeper level, and just KNOW what people want. You write copy like a wizard, musta breathtaking stories out of thin air and make people laugh with poetic wit. Ideally you already have connections within the blogging, influencer, & press/journalist world and are a self starter who can hit the ground running.
It's startuppy, so you'll have to be super proactive, and have the startup mentality of just going and making things happen.
You'll be working with a tight fun loving team. We've got myself Ross, an experienced Product Designer/chef of 10+ years, Kathryn our marketing & communications expert of 5+ years, Jack our Sales & ops manager 7+ years, Jay our UX pro, and our experienced off shore tech team.
You NEED to be london based, as despite being a remote team, we meet up regulary for brainstorming, team days out, eating, drinking etc. A lot of the publishers we work with are in London, so the need to be local helps.
If you LOVE food, LOVE what you do, and wanna be part of something new and groundbreaking then drop me a line.
DISCLAIMER: Pay wise it's gonna be pretty loose for the first few months, as this is all self funded - hence why it's part time, so you can juggle your current role (if you have one) and Cookt.
On starting you'll be awarded a generous amount of vested shares, and upon raising (December), a more than attractive pay package - if you turn out to be the right person. We've got this far unfunded at the moment, and we're all loving it the closer we get to launch. We're about to open our first funding round soon, so what better time to come onboard and join the founding team to become part of something amazing.
If you are or know anyone who likes a challenge, wants to be part of something big with the potential to make a difference in the cooking world (and lots of money) then drop me a message
Looking forward to hearing from you.
PS: Only apply if you have PR experience, kickass connections, and love to cook!
PPS: Also a cover letter is a must. Crazy I know, but CV's withouth cover letters NEVER get looked at. True story :)
