Hummingbird Technologies is the leading global remote sensing business for agriculture, using artificial intelligence and imagery analytics gathered from drones, planes and satellites technology, combined with weather and soil data and expert plant pathology to enable precision agriculture. You will join a talented team of software engineers, big data engineers, computer vision experts and machine learning researchers, and are expected to get up to speed rapidly in this fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. We are not solving trivial problems, but researching and developing to shape the future of crop and farm management through the creation of predictive analysis products, which will be used across the globe to feed the world and minimise the long-term environmental impact of modern, large-scale agriculture.
You will be working with the R&D, pipeline and product teams to take code and libraries from the research team, which includes image processing and analytics packages, make them production ready and deploy them to our processing pipeline. Your work will span development and operations and will involve collaboration across the entire Hummingbird technology and science teams. Your work will cover the processing and analytics pipelines for our drone and satellite data and will deliver to our SaaS platform as well as bespoke research projects.
You will be using Linux, Python and Terraform and deploying code to Google Cloud.
- Utilize the latest technologies to help build our drone and aerial imagery data processing and analytics platform.
- Help productionize image processing and machine learning models created by our research teams.
- Help optimize and improve performance of data processing algorithms written in python
- Advise and mentoring colleagues on best practices to employ when writing code for our environments
