Wimbledon 2022 is well under way. We all know how important it is to get ourselves up and moving, and tennis is an excellent way to do just that. If you have the right partner and an edge of competitiveness, I’d almost go as far as to say it’s addictive, even if you’re not a big sports fan! If you’re interested in giving it a go, keep reading to find out some startups that will help you get your tennis on.

RacketPal

A startup for any racket sport fans. This cleverly designed app helps you find other fans of your favourite sport to play a match with. Not only this, once you’ve found someone to challenge, the app also helps you find where you and your new pal can play in your local area! It’s a one stop shop for all your tennis (and squash…and badminton) needs.

WeTennis

There really is a niche for everyone and apparently a social media site dedicated to tennis is one of those niches. This startup allows tennis fans to build a community around themselves of like minded people, find people to play tennis with, or compete virtually. It has been deemed the ‘Strava for tennis’, which is a pretty good endorsement if you know anything about Strava.

Ellyra

Does the metaverse really have to be brought into everything? Well, yes. Yes it does. This startup is making tennis virtual for those who don’t have access to tennis courts or tennis partners. Due to the use of AI in their technology, this VR tennis set can provide you with detailed analytics to improve your tennis game and future experience.

Wingfield

Ok, I’ll admit, these VR/tennis hybrid are starting to get confusing, but these startups are too cool not to share. For this startup, it begins with downloading an app, creating a player profile, and finding a special Wingfield tennis court. When you arrive, you scan yourself in using a unique bar-code to let the court know who you are. Two machines at either end of the net use cameras to assess your game and provide AI generated feedback so you can analyse your session. The future of tennis is here!

That’s all for today, we hope you learnt something new about the tennis startup industry! If you have any that you think we missed off this list, send us an email, we’d love to hear from you.
