Sustainable Startups From the Blue Earth Summit

Last week (11 - 13 October), Bristol saw the return of the annual Blue Earth Summit - an action-packed three-day business event that harnessed the power of the outdoors to inspire sustainable mindsets.

All guests - be they speakers, brands, athletes, academics, or adventurers - were united in wanting to conserve our planet and its communities.

One key element of the summit was the Pitch Tent - where impact businesses, adventurers and charities could pitch live on stage to a packed room of investors and donors.
 
Having received over 400+ applicants, and presented by Wavelength Ventures, the Pitch Tent Business saw 4 fantastic finalists feature on stage, pitching to over 25 of the UKs leading impact VCs, plus many more angels and family offices. 

Bundlee

Bundlee is the UK’s first rental subscription for baby and toddler clothes. Having completed over 45,000 clothing rentals, and more than 1,000 subscribing families, Bundlee help parents easily save the planet, space and money. 

Dame

Ladies, this one's for you. This startup is on a mission to make periods positive by creating products that cause little harm to the environment and are accessible for everyone. DAME's products are high-performing, sustainable alternatives to the outdated mainstream period products people have become used to. Their shop includes organic cotton tampons, reusable pads and reusable applicator sets. 

Kvatt

Kvatt is a packaging startup on a mission to eliminate waste from the shipping industry.. Their answer is to use innovative technology to make reusable packaging that really works. Their main sectors are refurbished electronics and artwork packaging. 

Shackleton

Named after the famous Antarctic explorer, Ernest Shackleton, this startup is a fur-free outerwear brand. They are investing all their time and resources in scouting out the most sustainable solutions to materials like fur without any animal cruelty involved.
