Those three dreaded words for kids; those three glorious words for parents. Regardless of whether you love or hate this time of year, it’s a good opportunity for us all to feel like we’re starting fresh. I’ve had many friends in ‘real adult’ jobs say that they miss that ‘back-to-school’ feeling. You know the one; September rolls in and you feel ready to take on the challenge of a fresh new start - kind of like an academic new year's resolution.

Well, have I got some news for you!

The ultimate way to recapture that feeling is to find a new job – that’s where we come in. Start by checking out our latest roles here. If you’re still lucky enough to be in education, have kids who are, or work in the sector, then you’re likely questioning how to survive the back-to-school season for another year.

As always, startups are here to help, so let’s run through some EdTech startups that can provide some much-needed assistance.

Notion

Ok, so we cheated immediately - the first one on our list isn’t technically EdTech, but trust us, it’s a good one! If you’re looking to get extra organised this school year, notion will help you get your notes, to-do lists, project documents, and more into one simply designed, but customizable, place. The best part, it’s free for individuals! Where it gets extra exciting for our startup founders and executives is the fact that Notion gives a $1000 credit to startups who want to use their slightly more expensive team-based software, so you can try it out for free.

Brainly

Whether you’re a parent or a student yourself, having the right learning resources readily available at all times is vital. Brainly’s online learning platform gives you just that. Designed by students for students, this platform includes 1:1 tutoring so you can learn at your own pace, plus forums to ask teachers and peers any questions.

Interfolio

If you work in higher education, this time of year can certainly be stressful. Balancing teaching obligations with research demands and a whole new cohort of students? It’s enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed. Luckily, Interfolio is here to help faculty members succeed by supporting an improved workflow and better-shared governance technology. To break down the jargon a little - it’s a one-stop shop for all levels of faculty members to help make information more accessible, and their lives a little easier.

Perlego

If I could go back and tell my younger self anything, it would be this: it’s never too early to start studying! If you’re looking to get a head start this year, odds are you’re trying to find all the right textbooks. Oftentimes, finding the right study materials without breaking the bank can feel impossible. This startup is a top platform for academic and professional titles with over 400,000 e-books, which can be accessed for a monthly subscription price.

Hopefully this list has given you some motivation to get the new school year started with a bang. In the meantime, have a great weekend!
