Flexible schedules, no commuting, the ability to travel, spend more time with family. These are just some of the benefits you can enjoy when working remotely.

However, when it comes to the remote work lifestyle, there isn't exactly a one-size-fits-all formula. Each of us adjust our work schedules to suit our own lifestyles and needs. Some prefer to work from their home desk, others from the local café. But what if you're new to working from home and aren't sure how to adjust accordingly?

Although remote work is on the rise, many are still struggling to figure out how to create the perfect balance between their work lives and personal lives. So, what is the key to the perfect remote work lifestyle?

Well, here are some top tips to help you get on track.

  1. Get Organised

The non-linear nature of remote work can sometimes feel like having millions of tabs open in your brain. Before you know it, much like an overwhelmed computer, you end up crashing. For this reason, following a daily schedule is crucial to ensure everything gets done. Some great task-managing apps include Trello and Google Tasks amongst others.

     2. Take Regular Breaks

When working from home, it's easy to get sucked into a project while neglecting your other needs. Make sure you schedule regular breaks throughout the working day so that you don't run the risk of burning out.

     3. Consider Co-Working Spaces

For some, working from home can get a little too comfortable, resulting in far less productivity. If you find yourself in that category, why not head out and find a new working environment such as OUTSIDE, who offer a worldwide network of work-friendly co-living spaces.

     4. Stop Working on Weekends

Okay, so this might seem a bit obvious but weekends are for relaxing and not piling in extra work. Making sure you take some time off can even help you gain a fresh perspective when you come back to work.

      5. Move Around Regularly

Staying rooted to one spot for a prolonged period can significantly increase your risk of health problems such as cardiovascular disease. To make sure your body is getting the activity it needs, try to move around while working every half an hour. Scheduling regular walks throughout the day can also significantly improve your health.

With a bit of consistency, you can easily master the art of working remotely and create a happy, productive environment for yourself. Having a healthy routine can really help you get into the groove of working remotely.

On that note, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
