Role

We're looking for a Content & Communications Manager who will play a key role in shaping our brand identity, messaging, content and external communications strategies.

You'll be hands-on with creating content for all our channels, and also work with freelancers/interns to achieve our content and communications targets. You'll drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the content creation and communications process, from concept to creation/development to evaluation.

This role reports to our CEO.

What will you do in this role?

  • Brand messaging and positioning: Refine our brand messaging and positioning to ensure consistency and alignment with our mission, values, and value proposition.
  • Content strategy development: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with our goals, target audience, and brand positioning. This includes defining content themes, formats, channels, and cadence to effectively engage and resonate with the target audience.
  • Content creation and curation: Generate high-quality and engaging content across various channels, including website, blog, social media, email newsletters, and press releases. This involves creating original content such as articles, blog posts, videos (reels), infographics, and case studies, as well as curating relevant content from industry sources.
  • Manage external partners: Manage our wider team of external freelancers and contractors as appropriate to meet our content delivery goals.
  • Content performance analysis: Monitor and analyse the performance of content initiatives using relevant metrics and analytics tools. Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimisation to improve engagement, reach, and ROI of content marketing efforts.
  • Community engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community members, champions, and advocates. Monitor community health, sentiment, and feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Public relations: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers. Pitch story ideas, press releases, and thought leadership content to secure media coverage and generate positive publicity for the company.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with other teams, including brand/marketing and product to ensure alignment of messaging and content with overall business objectives and customer needs. Provide support and guidance on content-related matters.
  • Continuous learning and innovation: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in content marketing, communications, and public relations. Experiment with new formats, platforms, and strategies to drive innovation and optimise content performance.

You'll be a good fit if...

  • You're a self-starter and an independent worker with a "get it done" mindset
  • You have an eye for quality and a relentless pursuit of excellence—whether it's in crafting copy, designing graphics, elevating our branding or drafting a simple internal memo
  • You pride yourself on having a learner mindset, and have a strong practice of self-awareness and reflection to improve both your soft and hard skills
  • You have some knowledge of SaaS/tech startups and creative industries like interior design, wedding planning, or personal styling, and have an intuitive and empathetic understanding of what makes people tick
  • You're a thoughtful and engaging communicator—you know it's not just what you say, but how you say it (and you may be familiar with books like Smart Brevity and The Elements of Style)
  • You're a people person—you've got charisma and confidence, and are a pro at building genuine relationships and fostering community
  • You've got a knack for storytelling and can draw out the key narrative, even if it's not immediately obvious at first glance
  • You're well-read and have your finger on the pulse globally—whether it's knowing about the latest Taylor Swift memes or reading about macroeconomic pressures that affect how our customers live, earn and learn
  • You're innovative and imaginative—you see things not just for what they are, but what they could be, and you aren't afraid to experiment, play and fail
  • You approach problems with an analytical mindset, and can easily zoom in and out from the big picture to the finer details
  • You've got some experience with SEO, Google Analytics 4, Figma, and Webflow—and even if you don't, you're a quick learner who can untie these knots quickly
  • You resonate with our company values, RECIPE: resilience, empathy, camaraderie, integrity, play, and excellence

Salary & benefits

  • £30,000 to £38,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Generous stock options
  • 25 days holiday + birthday off
  • Health insurance
