Envisioned as the universal checkout solution, our platform simplifies the buying process into one interface, all products from all stores online having a 1 click checkout that the guarantees cheapest price using AI for sophisticated price comparison. 1Checkout is the answer to eliminating the hassle of managing multiple tabs to find the best deal. Currently gearing up for launch, we are in search of a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead our technical strategy and development.

The Role:

As the CTO of 1Checkout, you will be at the helm of our technology department, playing a crucial role in shaping our product's future and ensuring our technology stack supports scalable, innovative solutions. You'll collaborate closely with the CEO and founder who has previously founded several successful tech startups including two multimillion exits. You will align the company's strategic goals with our technology roadmap, leading the development and deployment of our platform. The position will join a small founding team early in the journey.

Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive tech strategy that aligns with 1Checkout's business goals, driving product innovation and market leadership.

- Team Development: Build and mentor a world-class engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

- Product Development: Oversee the development of our platform, ensuring robust, scalable, and seamless functionality that enhances user experience. Oversee third party tools and partners that can be used to build our MVPs to shortcut in house built tech where possible.

- Technical Excellence: Build and evolve our tech stack, which includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, AWS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Laraval and more, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. You will need to be a hands on coder, especially to begin with you will be writing considerable parts of the fundamental code, beyond just the architecture design.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to deliver on product roadmap commitments, ensuring technology fully supports company objectives.

- Innovation and Research: Stay ahead of technology trends and innovations, incorporating cutting-edge solutions that will keep 1Checkout at the forefront of the e-commerce industry.

- Operational Excellence: Ensure system reliability and scalability to handle growth, managing infrastructure, data security, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role in a high-growth tech company, ideally in price comparison or e-commerce, marketplace sectors.

- Strong background in developing scalable platforms and a deep understanding of web technologies, cloud infrastructure, and modern programming languages.

- Experience with our tech stack or similar technologies, and a commitment to maintaining high coding standards and practices. It is essential that you still love to code and will be writing code yourself as a large part of the initial role.

- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical innovation with business objectives.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
