I have recently built a new app side hustle - Easy Torrent Stream - and I'm looking for someone to join me on the journey to create the easiest way to search for torrents and stream them on demand.

The What

Torrenting is the act of sharing files from one laptop / phone / device with other people's devices directly in a decentralised manner (without using a server "host" to download the files from). However, all options for torrenting today, are very clunky, cumbersome, and require a high degree of technical knowledge (look at the UI of competitor apps today if you search "torrent" on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=torrent&c=apps ). 

The Why

Imagine if torrenting and watching files was as easy and visually appealing as streaming on a video platform such as Netflix? That is exactly the goal, build a platform which handles the searching, allows you to store torrents in an organised library, then once you have viewed it, it's automatically deleted from your phone for you. There is a high barrier for novice users today; you shouldn't need to know what a seed or a leecher is, the app should be simple enough to use, so it handles the complexity for you- It should be "grandma friendly". All apps out there today fail to do this and therfore are inaccessible for most people.

The How

This is where you come in - I have built the MVP version of the app (android only currently), and am ready to start sending it to people for testing and feedback. I am a developer / technical cofounder (having founded and exited previous tech businesses) and have a good understanding of digital marketing but not a marketeer. 

What I need from you in the early days is a defined organic growth plan (posting the product on forums / enthusiast groups, setting up a telegram community to build a community around the product, partnering with distrobution channels who can post the product out to their audiences in exchange for a further profit share etc), until we have gained enough revenue to spend on marketing which we will agree together. My expectation is for you to lead the marketing side while I handle the technical and we both cover strategic. 

Right now the product only exists on Android. The logical next step would be to produce a web version so it can be used on any device. We will most lilkely look at this once the first version is validated. 

The ROI

Looking at competitors on the app store, most of these apps have 100k - 10m+ downloads. The medium term goal is to setup a free and premium tier of 100,000 active users with 5000 paying subscribers paying 0.99p / month; with a free ad supported tier.

By my projections, this will result in an annual revenue of around £70k. The profits of which we can split depending on agreed growth targets, which will be tied to downloads / revenue. This is a cofounder equity / profit sharing role, so sadly for the time being it is unpaid until we have the traction to pay ourselves.

Once we get to this number of users, either we can look to exit to a larger player, or work on growing to £500k. 

I think this could be a nice little business on the side, given the product is already built, so my expectation is 10-15 hours of work per week would be sufficient to getting the product out there. 

I am based in London so if you are too that would be a bonus, however more than happy to work with people remotely.
