  • #The company (Geeky Medics)

We're very much a small, scrappy, asynchronous, remote-first team made up of doctors, medical students, developers and designers.

We currently have 2 senior Django developers who can dabble in front end, but we're now in search of a dedicated frontend engineer.

The company is entirely bootstrapped and profitable, having grown steadily since its founding 13 years ago.

    #The platform

The Geeky Medics platform helps healthcare students and professionals (predominantly medical students/doctors) to practise their clinical skills and refine their knowledge. We also have several innovative AI features, such as the ability to chat with virtual patients. In terms of scale, we have hundreds of thousands of users and are one of the most trusted brands in the space.

    #The stack

    • Frontend: Bootstrap (v5) and JavaScript

    • Backend: Django, Python, Postgres

    #Skill set we're looking for

We are looking to find an experienced frontend engineer with a good sense of UI/UX design and who is familiar with Bootstrap (v5) and plain old JavaScript. Given the project is build using Django, the ideal candidate would have a good understanding of Python to facilitate integrating front end components independently (though we do have Django developers who can help out if needed).

    #The role

Part-time remote contractor role for 3 days a week to lead the implementation of new front-end features and enhancements to existing interfaces. We have a UI/UX designer to assist with developing new interfaces using Figma.

    #Hours & pay

We're hoping to find someone able to commit 3 days a week to begin with.

Pay would be on an agreed hourly basis, and the work itself would be fully remote and asynchronous.

    #Communication skills

Excellent communication skills are essential in the context of remote asynchronous work.
