Co-Founder at Stix

Hey I’m Jake (Linkedin profile here - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jakewhittall/) and I’m looking for a CoFounder!

I launched Stix (www.stixstudios.com), an online marketplace dedicated to men’s sustainable fashion, in January. The mission is to make it simple and easy to shop for stylish fashion that does not cost the earth and in the process do our part to try and change the fashion industry for the better!

The marketplace is up and running, and we have some amazing brands featured. 

The challenge:

The key challenge you'll be tacklig with me is to how a community of people who want to buy from Stix. This will encompass driving more website traffic and subscribers, and building a presence and following on social media initially. 

Beyond this there is always day to day operations, from updating the site (it's all built on Shopify), creating content (newsletters, blogs, posts etc) working on SEO and the continued ongoing building of relationships with new brands. 

What I'm looking for:

The values are the most important thing to me. There are 3 things I’m looking for:

1. Contribution: Someone who wants to leave positive contribution 
2. Resourceful: someone who can make something from nothing
3. Resilient: someone who can bounce from one failure to another

Beyond this experience in marketing (community building, social media, digital marketing, SEO) would be ideal. My strengths lie in Sales and Business Development and I can do Operations. So someone who can compliment those strengths/make up for my weaknesses would be great. But I am very open to whatever your background is - values and your passion for sustainability is more important to me. 

Location:

I’m London based, so ideally I’d like someone based in or around the city so we could meet at times in person. But I am open as long as you are within +2 hours of GMT time. I’m doing this around a day job, you’d have to do the same and be able to commit 7-8 hours per week. 

Being a bootstrapped start-up, this is obviously unpaid as well.
