Role/Profile

We are a rapidly growing, values-driven team of specialists who work with government clients across Cyber Security, National Security, Law Enforcement and Telecommunications. We are seeking a talented and motivated Front End Developer to join our team and contribute to our mission of protecting the UK through data-driven insights and solutions. As a Senior Front End Developer, you will work closely with our public sector clients and project teams to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet our clients’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand their software engineering needs and objectives

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions using industry best practices and coding standards

• Utilise your expertise in front end languages, frameworks, and technologies to architect robust and reusable components

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather project requirements, analyse feasibility, and provide technical recommendations

• Develop clean, efficient, and well documented code, ensuring code quality through testing, debugging, and code reviews

• Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in front end technology and share your knowledge with the team

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budget

• Accurately delivering high quality work to agreed timelines, including taking the initiative and knowing how to jump straight in

• Supporting client engagements, including pitches and presentations

• Helping to support & grow the business by actively inputting into the company strategy and helping to shape our future

Skills/knowledge

The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field

• 5 years+ experience as software engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting

• Proficiency in JavaScript, with experience using TypeScript

• Strong familiarity with a number of frontend UI frameworks, React, Angular and Node.

• Expertise in CSS pre-processor languages such as SCSS or SASS, including the ability to extend CSS functionalities.

• Understanding of modular and reusable UI component architecture.

• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments

• Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges

• Excellent communication and presentation skills or Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environments

• A passion for delivering high quality software solutions that meet client expectations

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

• Knowledge of software security principles and best practices
