    Job Description:

    The Marketing and Sales Executive at Global Tech Advocates Black Women In Tech (GTA-BWIT) will lead our efforts to elevate the visibility of Black women in the technology sector and expand our network's reach and impact. This role involves strategic planning, innovative campaign execution, and fostering strong relationships with both tech organisations and individual tech professionals. The ideal candidate will champion our mission to advocate for diversity and inclusion within the technology industry, utilising a mix of marketing acumen and sales strategies to enhance our presence and drive membership and sponsorship growth.


    Responsibilities:

    1. Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and sales strategy that aligns with the organisation’s goals.
    2. Campaign Management: Craft compelling marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the mission, vision, and value of GTA-BWIT.
    3. Partnership Building: Engage with corporate partners and stakeholders to secure sponsorships and partnerships.
    4. Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing efforts, including social media management, content creation, and email marketing, to build community engagement and increase visibility.
    5. Event Promotion: Organise and promote events that highlight the achievements and contributions of Black women in tech.
    6. Data Analysis: Analyse market trends and member feedback to continuously refine marketing strategies and campaigns.
    7. Membership Expansion: Manage and expand the organisation’s membership base through targeted sales strategies and outreach.
    8. Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to all organisational initiatives.
    9. Community Engagement: Develop a strategy for direct engagement with the community, such as hosting roundtable discussions, webinars, and Q&A sessions with influential Black women in tech.


    Required Skills:

    1. Strong understanding of marketing principles and sales strategies, particularly within non-profit or advocacy-based contexts.
    2. Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, SEO, and email marketing.
    3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to persuasively communicate the organisation’s mission and build strong relationships.
    4. Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns that engage a diverse audience.
    5. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
    2. 3-5 years of experience in marketing and sales, preferably within a tech or non-profit organisation focused on advocacy or diversity and inclusion.
    3. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies that have successfully increased organisation visibility and engagement.
    4. Experience working with diverse teams and promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

    1. Membership Growth: Track the increase in membership numbers on a monthly and annual basis to assess outreach effectiveness.
    2. Digital Engagement Rates: Monitor likes, shares, comments, and views across social media platforms and the organisation's website to gauge audience interaction.
    3. Event Attendance: Record the number of attendees at workshops, seminars, and networking events to measure engagement and interest levels.
    4. Sponsorship Revenue: Keep a tally of funds raised from sponsors, noting any trends or changes in sponsorship engagement to evaluate financial support growth.
    5. Regular Reporting: Implement a structured reporting system to provide updates to the board and stakeholders. This will highlight progress against set KPIs and help align strategies with organisational objectives.

    Professional Development and Networking:

    1. Ongoing Learning: Promote continuous skill enhancement in cutting-edge marketing strategies and technological advancements unique to the tech industry.
    2. Conferences and Workshops: Allocate funds and time for team members to attend relevant industry conferences, seminars, and workshops. This will not only enhance their skills but also expand their professional networks.
    3. Knowledge Sharing Sessions: Organise internal sessions where team members can share insights and strategies learned from external training and networking events.

    Diversity and Inclusion Training:

    1. Mandatory Training Programs: Implement comprehensive diversity and inclusion training for all marketing and sales personnel to deepen their understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black women in tech.
    2. Cultural Competency: Ensure training includes modules on cultural competency to help team members market and sell respectfully and effectively across diverse groups.
    3. Feedback Mechanisms: Establish feedback channels where employees can discuss diversity training outcomes and suggest improvements.

    Community Engagement:

    1. Interactive Platforms: Host roundtable discussions, webinars, and live Q&A sessions with prominent Black women in the tech industry to inspire and educate members as well as the broader community.
    2. Feedback Collection: Utilise these events to collect feedback directly from the community, providing valuable insights that can shape future strategies and initiatives.
    3. Showcase Success Stories: Regularly feature stories of Black women in tech, highlighting their achievements and challenges, to build a more connected and informed community.
