We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to help us build VouchSafe: an identity verification tool that works for the 1 in 5 who struggle to pass traditional ID checks and end up locked out of vital services.

You’ll be an important part of our growing tech team, joining our CTO and junior software engineer.

You’ll be responsible for planning, building and testing new features, informed by our user and customer research, as we get VouchSafe ready for launch.

Responsibilities

• Plan, make and test new features, balancing user needs with technical constraints and opportunities
• Help us plan the roadmap for VouchSafe, guided by your knowledge of technical effort and constraints
• Work with our senior designer to architect new features
• Work with our enterprise customers on any custom API integrations they might need
• Pair with our junior software engineer and delegate work where it makes sense

Things you’ll need

• Something like 5 years of experience in a software engineering-related discipline
• Experience with some mixture of Node.js, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL and AWS
• Familiarity with or interest in natural language processing, computer vision, fraud detection, user authentication or similar disciplines
• Comfortable finding the ‘quick do”; making technical decisions with incomplete knowledge

Nice to have

• Experience working on early-stage B2B2C products like ours
• Relevant tech-for-good sector experience from fintech, govtech or similar
